Administration

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Brandon Pelkey; I am the principal at Franklin Academy High School. As a 1990 graduate of Franklin Academy I am very proud and excited to be working with your children in this capacity.
Over the past 20+ years I have served the district in many different capacities. Before being appointed to the principalship I served as the assistant principal during the 2012-2013 school year. Prior to this I was a biology teacher and the dean of students in the district. During the 2010-2011 school year I was afforded the opportunity to serve as the elementary principal at St. Lawrence Elementary School in the Brasher Falls School District. From 1995 to 2010 I was a biology teacher and coach. I coached boys varsity cross country from 1999-2009, boy’ varsity swimming from 1997-2009, and boys modified track from 1996-1998 and 2005-2009.
I have a Certificate of Advance Study from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in building level administration that I received in 2010. I received my Master’s degree from the State University of New York at Potsdam in 1995 in Elementary Education. Prior to that I attended Potsdam and attained my Bachelor degree in 1994 in Interdisciplinary Natural Science and Mathematics.
As a former biology teacher I am an avid outdoorsman and take every opportunity to immerse myself and my family into nature. From hunting and fishing to camping and boating, nature has so much to offer.
My children attend Malone Central in grades 10 & 12. My wife, Pamela, is a 2nd grade teacher at Davis Elementary school.
If you have any questions or need any assistance please feel free to contact me at 483-7807, option 1, or me at email bpelkey@maloneschools.org.
